Pre & Post Care
To achieve the best results from your treatment, please follow the below pre and post care instructions. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us!
Lip Blush
Pre-Care
Keep your lips moisturised with lip balm and drink plenty of water the week leading up to your appointment! We recommend the Dermal Therapy Lip Balm (Original) for your pre-care balm.
Exfoliate your lips with a gentle lip scrub a few days prior if you’re experiencing any dryness. We won’t be able to tattoo your lips if they’re chapped.
No lip filler or chemical skin treatments around the area 4 weeks prior.
Avoid sun exposure/solariums 2 weeks prior.
Avoid caffeine, alcohol or pain killers (e.g. Aspirin, Ibuprofen) 48 hours prior.
It’s not recommended to get a tattoo if you’re on blood-thinning medications. If you are unsure about medications you’re taking, please consult your doctor.
If prone to cold sores, you’ll need to consult your doctor 1-2 weeks prior for anti-viral medication and take as recommended. If a cold sore outbreak occurs prior to appointment, please notify us as we’ll need to reschedule your appointment to a future date once cold sores have healed.
Post-Care
Do not pick, bite, rub or pull off flaking skin and avoid touching lips with fingers.
Clean lips once daily with provided solution and consistently apply thin layer of aftercare balm throughout the day to prevent lips from drying out.
Continue using aftercare balm for 1st week until lips have finished flaking.
Use a clean cotton-bud each time when applying the balm to prevent cross-contamination and infection.
Avoid hot showers, steam rooms/saunas, salt water or pools for 1 week.
Avoid kissing, applying makeup or skincare products on lips for 1 week.
Avoid skin, laser, chemical treatments or lip fillers 4 weeks after.
Avoid direct sun exposure/solariums for 4 weeks, especially without SPF.
Avoid spicy foods for first 2 days to prevent irritation.
Brow Treatments
Pre-Care
For brow tint or dye, gently exfoliate your brows 48 hours prior and keep your skin moisturised in the days leading up to your appointment.
Ensure skin is clean and makeup-free upon arrival.
Avoid skin, laser, or chemical treatments 4 weeks prior.
Avoid skincare with active ingredients (e.g. retinol, AHAs) 1 week prior.
Avoid tweezing, shaving or trimming brow hair 1 week prior to ensure natural shape is visible and hair is long enough for us to work with.
Avoid sun exposure/solariums 2 weeks prior.
If you’ve had a recent cosmetic tattoo, ensure that your brows have completely healed (at least 6 weeks or as advised by the technician).
Post-Care
Avoid touching or applying makeup on your brows for 24 hours.
Keep brow area dry and avoid exposure to moisture (e.g. sweat, hot showers, saunas, salt water, pools) for 24 hours.
Avoid oil-based products (e.g. skincare, makeup remover) on your brows to maintain longevity of tint or dye.
For brow lamination, after 24 hours apply a nourishing brow serum/oil daily to keep the hairs hydrated and apply a bond-building treatment once weekly or as needed to maintain hair health.
